One day
we met again,
After our hurts
had subsided
for a while.
We said hello
and “how are you,”
Then we sat and talked
for an hour or so.
It was as if
everything that
had happened
seemed like ages ago.
It was somehow
unspoken of now.
We asked if we’d
at any time
offended the other,
the answer was, ”no.”
We didn’t want to
talk about the hurts,
the past
We just talked about
what we’d missed
and what had
gone on in our
absence.
Kind words were spoken,
and all was well
again.
Smiles happened,
Genuine hearts
exchanged thoughts
and we were
caught up with
events in our lives
within a short time.
And, once again
concern was there
for the other
and how they were
being treated in their life.
They wanted to know
what had gone on
in their life
and, most of all
they wanted to know
about the other...
Yes, it’s just as if
we’d never had
the mishap
between us.
Neither of us
brought it up
only one thing,
and it was
quickly dismissed.
The caring
that was felt before
was once again
in our midst.
How can it be
that this is so?
I only can express
the way it is.
It’s all so real,
All clothed
with Tenderness.
We spoke again.
My heart is filled
with Love...
