Life - A Poem by Dianne Meldrum

This life is a test.

We look for adventure.

We find it.

How do we react
when we encounter problems
and obstacles along the way?

Did I act fearlessly?

Did I have confidence
in God being with me?

I was tested
to see
how my patience was.

Would I endure
obstacles in the path?

Would I pursue
my goal
or turn back?

Did I go too far?

or did I turn
when and where
I was prompted?

Did I handle my curiosity
in the right way?

How were my thoughts
along the way
when a problem
got in the way,
was I peaceful and calm?

Or did I get all uptight
and scared or nervous or what?

Did I say,
“Lord, please help me
to do just exactly
as I should,”
then have faith
that He’d
help me along?

And, when I found
the perfect spot
that I was looking for,
did I remember to say?

“Dear Lord,
Thank you,
for helping me this day.

Thank you for guiding me
along the way to a better path
than I would have
ever found - alone.

Thank you,
Dear Heavenly Father,
for giving me this day,
I thank thee
for thy love,
for thy patience
and understanding,
and for forgiving me
of my faults.

I love you,
Dear Lord, and I know
that thou lovest me.”
Life is what
we make it.

With God,
we are always blessed.
