I thought you were my friend, I said.
All along in my heart and soul
I’ve treated you like an artist friend.
I trusted you to always know that
that’s how I treated you
My artist friend, that’s how I felt,
That’s how I treated you.
I trusted you supposing then
you’d never let me down.
Bestowing upon me your kindness
never ever to take me wrong.
I innocently thought you’d always know
my heart was clean and pure.
I never thought that I would have
to Explain myself, someday.
I thought you’d know my heart and soul,
I thought you’d be in tune.
I know that how I treated you
was pure and Christ-like too.
Our worlds are separated at this time
by barriers we cannot cross,
So, that makes us then: friends,
for now and then.
That’s fine for this time, hence.
We need not then misunderstand
my true meaning and intent.
There are no hidden motives
inside my inner self.
My thoughts are pure
that’s all that counts.
There’s innocence in my all.
So, mistake me not, no nonetheless!
I meant no wrong at all.
I thought that we were friends, my friend,
what happened to that call?
