Help me, Dear Lord,
to freely forgive
The one who’s hurt me so.
Help me now to freely forgive the one
who’s left a scar so deep
within my soul.
Please help to heal the wounds
Way down, deeply
There within,
my melancholy soul.
Help me dear Lord
to somehow find
A peace from deep within.
Help me now to somehow forget
the things that haunt me so
and leave impressions on my mind.
Remove those words
those hurtful ones
That leaves a numbness
on my mind.
Please help remove
those words therein
that linger deep inside,
Please help to take away
the things that hinder
healing to my soul.
Remove those thoughts
that keep coming back
like a broken record that’s scratched.
Help me then to fill my mind
with thoughts of love instead.
Help me to somehow realize
That I am of the Divine.
Forgiving is much easier,
It’s the forgetting
the letting go, that’s not.
Forgetting is so hard to do
because it’s happened to you.
And that’s the part that’s difficult
Because our minds
just bring things back
And we remember
the pain that’s there,
That’s what keeps the hurt alive.
Forgetting is the part
for most of us
that keeps the wound
from healing inside.
It’s hard to take away
the sting that’s stung
Way deep inside the soul.
It’s the hurt
that’s left a scar
Reminding you of the past
That’s what leaves
an emptiness,
a void that’s hard to fill.
Because it is a part of you
that’s so hard to let go.
I pray for love,
the Saviors love,
To fill my emptiness.
He’s whom I look for to fill my heart
With love and tenderness.
My Savior,
He’s my comfort and joy
that fills me with warmth and love.
It’s He who’ll help me to forgive.
Dear Lord, please bless my soul.
